CE Mercantil faces the Costa Girona Cup Summer 2024 with great pride and honour.
In the 1950s, Mercantil achieved promotion until reaching the third division of state football, where it remained until 1960. During these years, they reached the point of playing in a promotion to the Second Division, which unfortunately they were unable to achieve.
A few years later, the club decided to dedicate all its efforts to promoting grassroots football. This task has led Club Deportivo Mercantil to become one of the leading clubs in Catalonia in the training of players, often competing in the top categories of Catalan football with its teams and training a large number of players who have reached the professional category in some of the best teams in the Spanish league and recently also abroad.
Club Esportiu Mercantil is one of the century-old Catalan entities that continues to dedicate its efforts to promoting grassroots football, and is currently one of the leading clubs in Catalonia in terms of training great talents. In 1925 the club was admitted as a member of the Catalan Football Federation and began to compete in official competitions, standing out at a regional level.
