Real Union Club has confirmed for the Easter event!
Real Unión Club is a Spanish football club from the city of Irún, Guipúzcoa, which plays in the Primera Federación. Real Unión is a historic club, it was one of the ten founding clubs of the Campeonato Nacional de Liga in 1929 and has four Copa del Rey titles. Despite this, it has only played four seasons in the First Division. Its golden age lasted until the beginning of the 1930s, when professionalism entered the world of football and clubs from provincial capitals, such as Real Sociedad in Guipúzcoa, predominated over the rest.
Grandfather Emery won two Spanish Cups (1924/1927) with Real Unión de Irún as a goalkeeper. The Emerys are committed to a renewal project.
His father Antonio also played for Irún. And for Deportivo, with Amancio. A family business to put back on the cross-border map. A region, between Spain and France, with a market of 120,000 people in winter. In summer, the population increases fourfold.
Igor Emery, Unai’s brother, explained to Efe that this is a “sentimental project.” The Emery saga has the example of Eibar, a well-managed club that has reached the sky in recent years. Or the Bidasoa handball club, a benchmark.
