Welcome to Alcalá!
On May 1, 1924, the history of the current REAL SOCIEDAD DEPORTIVA ALCALÁ began.
Ángel Gómez Alcalá, a great goalkeeper and an even better human being, played a decisive role in the formation of the Real Sociedad Deportiva Alcalá. Ángel guarded Porta Alcalá for several years and then served as manager and number two partner until his death. His Majesty the King has granted us the title “Royal” and the certification document is published here.
The Real Sociedad Deportiva Alcalá lived a GOLDEN ERA, in which it created different sections (up to eight), played in the First Division with Real Madrid and Estudiantes, there was a cycling competition, among them basketball. In this section the champion Antonio Suárez completed the bulk of his training. We also have a boxing division that organizes countless evenings in our house. Many champions passed through its ring, such as in 1953, 54, 55… In the 1954 Castilla Championship, it faced four boxers, one of whom was the Super Lightweight Champion (Ortega). This player was a member of the Spanish team that played against Turkish and German teams, defeated the Turkish opponents and played zero matches against the German team. He participated in the II Mediterranean Games held in Barcelona. This exemplary athlete was recognized by the Boxing Federation and R.S.D. Alcalá received the Award for Sports Career.
Under the motto “never give up” they want to face the best teams in the Costa Girona Cup 2024.
